Sitting in my usual seat here on the Green Line
observing the fallacy I call life (not necessarily my own).
I realize yet another time that I am blessed.

Then man across from me is on his cellphone
Talking at the tip top of his voice
    In that high-pitched explanatory tone
    I soooo despise
Apparently to his baby’s mama (not his wife).
Trying to explain that he can’t pay for daycare next
Week ‘cause his other baby’s mama (also not his wife)
Requires something extra that he must supply.

The girl next to me is biting her nails down to the skin
    (something else I hate)
all the while her petite, scantily clad body is in
constant motion, twitching and shifting as her eyes
move even faster… side to side looking back and forth
as if she’s afraid he’s coming after her or
as if he’s not coming fast enough. Hmmmm.

Most of the people on the Green Line are nameless
Yet familiar faces traveling to unnamed places
Avoiding each other’s eyes like the plague.
They must be thinking, “**** she’s strange!”
As I sit here writing God knows what so fast and furiously
Not wanting to lose one face or story before the next stop
And look up intermittently and purposely to make eye contact
With each and every one of them and render a half smile.

    “Yeah, she must be crazy.”

this is a commuter story for sure

and you know eye contact is a no-no on the train or bus
so yeah you must be crazy

    ha ha ha
    feeling this piece
we don't have time to talk to nobody
    because we don't trust people

    peace
and i can definitely identify with this

I really liked this....Observing/recording the humanity around you.

Yeah, I can relate....I've sat on the train with pen and pad writing my thoughts down as well, musing/wondering about the people I see and their background stories. ---And, yeah, they probably think I'm just as crazy as I think THEY are! (lol)

    Again, great write!
