Is to make myself the best human being I can in th
America seems to be crumbling around us. People fearful about their jobs, Wall Street, businesses, college loans, homes and continued way of life. This is the year of change and change is exactly what we are getting. America's mettle is being tested as well as its ability to deal with reaping what its sown. Many have their head in the sand, refusing to accept culpability. Its always easier to blame the other guy instead of admitting our own failures.

Sometimes out of failure one discovers their successes and renewal.

The bailout failed because it was selfish and did not reach out to those who need it most. It was being given to those who profited from the distress of the citizenry and indeed caused the problem in the first place. The bailout was being handed to greedy criminals at the top who have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar and are now asking America to keep them afloat.

It wasnt long before the wolves started howling. Bush showed up crying wolf with his standard scare tactic and rush to help the rich with nothing for the poor. Henry Paulson an ex-Lehman Brother official and now Secretary Treasurer, was upfront with his greed and arrogance, asking stupid America to give him a blank check to reward further corporate greed with golden parachutes. Congress was right to say no to such a horrific bailout to these criminals. And that is exactly what these folks are. The Federal government is now investigating and it will be very interesting to see how many, if any, of these criminals, go to jail.:fight:

Most of America didnt have the money to invest in the stock market anyway. They were too busy trying to pay these outrageous overpriced rents, mortgages, food and gasoline. So this is primarily an upper class bailout. These guys made millions so they are not really hurting. They are only hurting because the robbery machine is grinding to a halt.

As some suggest, instead of giving these guys $700 billion, give it to the American people, let them pay off their debts and from the sheer spending on debt elimination, Americans can keep the money flowing to stimulate the economy.

The credit system needs to be revamped now that the focus is on it. Revamped and made fairer with interest laws implemented and overseers regulating banks to control how much interest banks/credit card companies can charge. People should have a component wherein they can pay off their debts far sooner than 30 years. As it stands now, via the present greedy system, people are bleeded with interest so they end up paying 3 and 4 times more than they initially borrowed. In fact, perhaps Americans should rethink the credit system altogether since its kept them virtual slaves. We may need to return to the America before credit. Yes, that would be painful at first but it may teach Americans the art of satisfaction.

Most of us dont really need all the junk we have been programmed and conditioned into buying. We can learn how to appreciate what we have and change our value systems. Instead of watching violence on TV and film, and denigrating women and killing one another over sneakers they tell us we simply must have at the outrageous price of $300, we can read. Yes, educate ourselves. We could actually return to traditional values, focus more on our families and perform loving service toward others rather than acquiring the latest gadget.

We can volunteer instead of charging constantly for everything we do. We can teach others skills and share our talents instead of feeling threatened that by improving another's lot, somehow we are minimizing our own opportunity. Instead of having a competition mindset change it to a cooperative mindset.

In fact, we can return to the community and the village when people helped one another. As it stands now, people are so separated they dont know their neighbors, they step over the homeless in the street. They abandon the elderly and rob and abuse them. They ignore and refuse to discipline their children when their children err. These children need a parent and guidance not a peer. We need to involve ourselves in cultural pursuits and come to know our so-called enemies, looking for commonality instead of confrontation. We need to dialogue and try to find out why America is hated. We may just find Americans have been lied to and that the enemy we think is outside waiting to harm us is just like us and only wants to feed and care for their loved ones. We might just discover the true enemy lies amongst us, manipulating us via fear and propaganda. Perhaps we should concentrate more on what creates an enemy and what the cause is rather than the result. Remember the result is only the aftermath of the cause.

Instead of bemoaning what we perceive as losses, why not have a change of mind. Everything in life is a mindset. You make of life what you perceive it is.

I have included a link wherein an example is shown of what one can do when one simply realizes the greatness that is contained within yourself and others.:hearts4:
