she danced around my request to get acquainted
she smiled a smile of innocence
like she was new to this world
and she was
at least she was new to my world
but i had to have her in it
so i kept inquiring
and she kept smiling

it was something in her glow

i met her again
down by the southern shores
she was waiting for her life to begin
she spoke about the strange men
who made promises in exclamation
without mentioning her smile
but not i
i fell into her smile
because i knew it was the beginning
of things to come
and i wanted to see what she will bring to me
so i kept inquiring
and she kept smiling

it was something in her glow

under southern trees
near the road to big cities
we met again
this time with a circular link in my hand
i inquired of our lives getting acquainted in years to come
i spoke to her of wanting to tie knots
just to keep her from dancing away from me
so as i continued to speak of day and night dreams
she would continue to smile a smile of innocence
pretending that she had not planned for her life
to intertwine with mine
and with tear filled eyes
i smiled back at her

it was something in her glow

i no longer inquire of getting acquainted
i now sing songs
songs of beginning life with her in my world
i sing of loving the life that she brings to me
i sing of the day and night dreams
that have unfolded inside our circular link
i sing of living in her smile
as we together dance in her glow
