    Cracks in the pavement
    signaling colored peoples lives
    Broken windows in my hood
    Gun fire everynight

    Can you hear the music
    Little children crying
    Dope fiend whining
    The hustle and bustle on
    Night walkers grinden

This is the ghetto and its
    Unique scenary
    Sista Bertha on th cornor
Yellin, I call her that but
She aint know kin to me!

Vagrants out, liven like its luxury
Drugs, gunshots,in the Ghetto!..what place would they rather be!

This is my ghetto, regardless of what people might say
People point to better life, but being from hear
This abyss seems the only way

    The gunshots have became comforting
Letting me know that I have a home
    Sirens flashin, people running
Aint nothing like a hot ghetto day
What other place ignores the pool
And choses the fire hydrent as its choice to play!

The Ghetto, The Ghetto, The ghetto
Aint nothing like my grass roots
    Gym shoes, play shoes
What? Those were our steel toe boots
The same dress for every occasion
    White T's and Jeans
A Ghetto star's dress for relaxation.

    Aint nothing like the Ghetto
    The excitement is unreal
Come hang out for a day, feel what I feel
    Come learn people that struggle,
yet still knows how to have fun
Come meet brothas, that play like the biggest kids
But in the night carry a gun...

Come meet my people so you cand know whats real,
Yeah suburn life is just that,
But liven in the hoods gives you lifes real feel.

Aint no punches held, no story book ending
    Some nights its all fun
and others blood shed is the ending!
The Ghetto,to others its ugly, rundown, in a cloud of dirt
But to the colored, its the only place were we know that our people come first!
