The History of Blacks in Education: From Slavery to The Present

This lecture will focus on the self-determined struggle by Blacks, from the 17th century until the present, to educate themselves. Using Frederick Douglass as an example, the audience will be taken on a never-ending journey for educational freedom and improvement that began the moment enslaved Africans we brought to America and continues up until the present day with the freedom schooling, home schooling, charter school and private school movements that are sweeping the Black community today in the 21st century. The audience will have the opportunity to view the historic family tree that connects the presenter by bloodline to the greatest Black leader of the 19th century.

“Black Robes & White Justice”

Black Education and The Law: From Brown V. Board to No Child Left Behind
Thursday May 24, 2007 @ 6PM-8PM
This Lecture will focus on the legal challenges that have been waged by Blacks since slavery to gain access to fair and decent education. The most critical and famous legal decisions effecting Black education, and the secret closed-door strategies that led to them will be discussed in detail. Such cases will include the strategies and schemes behind the Brown V. Board (1954), Milliken V. Bradley (1974), Bakke V. University of California (1978), No Child Left Behind (2000) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (2004) will be discussed at length. The audience will be given an introduction to educational laws and special education regulations in this presentation. The audience will have the opportunity to view the historic family tree that connects the presenter by bloodline to the greatest Black leader of the 19th century.

“From The Crack House to the School House”

The Psycho-Tropic Drugs Epidemic and Black Children
Thursday June 7, 2007 @ 6PM-8PM
This lecture will focus on the history of the movement to bring psychology into the schools. The Federal Anti-Violence “Drug” Initiative will be discussed as well as how this movement, that sought to prove that Blacks were genetically prone to violent behavior, will be expounded upon in detail. The current childhood psychotropic drug prescription rates in the Black community will be given as well as some of the dangerous side-effects that are rarely discussed will be offered to the audience. This conversation will take place within the social engineering framework in which this movement originated. The audience will have the opportunity to view the historic family tree that connects the presenter by bloodline to the greatest Black leader of the 19th century.

“Segregation By Another Name”
The Impact of Special Education on the Black Community
Thursday July 12, 2007 @ 6PM-8PM
This lecture will focus on the antecendents, rationale and eugenicidal origins of the educational program that is popularly referred to as “special education”. The audience will be educated on the racist theories and ideologies that gave birth to special education, as well as the relationship between special education, prison, learned helplessness, and pre-emancipation ideas about Black intelligence. The controversial definitions of “mental retardation” and “learning disabilities” will be discussed within the current crisis that has record numbers of Black children being assigned to these programs everyday. The audience will have the opportunity to view the historic family tree that connects the presenter by bloodline to the greatest Black leader of the 19th century.
