The erections of a black man
    So sweet
    So powerful
    The black man
    Lift him up
As I ask this subtle question
Do you know what caused his erection?
It wasn’t’ sex, women, money or greed
    It was culture
    It was life
It was the lies of morning
It was evil of the night
    Death
    Caused his erection
    Of concern for his people
    Hatred and
    Bitterness
    Caused a contempt
    For those people
    The lies
    Masked as truth
    Behind the façade of education
    Caused his erection
    Of concern
For a target and confused generation…

    A foundation that consists
    Of slavery and invention
    Of rebellion and ascension…..
A foundation that consist of jazz
    And be-bop
    Ragtime and
    Hip-hop

    His foundation is strong
That’s why they fear his erections
    Call it crime
    As he penetrates their mind
    With no time
    For them
    To find protection

    From the sphinx
    To Tuskegee
    His erections are feared
    For their power
    Even history says
    He came before the mayflower
So if you must amuse yourself
Than put him to the test
But he will not be to blame
    For what
    Will be erected next
