    the diamond fountain

she couples her hands drinking from turbid streams
    swallowing her dreams yet not
    quenching her thirst..

there she would drink everyday from the cloudy streams
of winds' and trees' dead sediments
wanting to taste rather the "fruits" of life
which the shifting currents would not allow..

one morning as the winds were blowing
and the gray clouds were showing she dismally
    advanced her stream.
bending to receive her quench she coupled her hands except this time the turbid streams and swallowed dreams
would flow from her face as she cried to God

many days followed that i would see her .
i remember that day when she cried into that stream
and it became a diamond fountain with with precious sediments,
    springing life and dreams

light beams danced with her toward her fountain for she knew
that it would hold her beautifull reflection.
she smiled bending on both of her knees beholding the never known clarity and beauty of herself.
she drank from the the fountain the peace of the wind and
indulged the breeze in her soul
it was this time only i saw her drink and become whole...

i'd like to convey what this peace means to me a little.

"she" (could use "he") after coming to this stream of doubts
fears, her past of failures hurt and pain and drinking daily from it,
senses one day after so long that she doesn't have to drink there and so she cries these turbid tears of that stream down her face as they fall seeping through her hands drifting far away
into forgetfulness, this is when she discovers her worth and sees herself clear as day, clear as diamonds, and sees within her a fountain of treasures leaping to new life, new vision and hope.
she drinks once and can finally see that who she is, God's jewel,
    was what she always was.

    peace be
