    Waiting for the day
    that my feet touch
    African soils that my
    lips touch African soil
    after I kiss my mother
    I yearn to feel the
    power of the moment
    when spirit's songs
    dance along my bones
    and wait for the
    roots to my "history"
tree to reach out for me
    to hold me the way
    I know it will. I
    want to hear the drums
    of celebration of birth
    of rebirth of my conception
    upon my mother's womb
    in Mother Africa.
