The day that poetry left me

I am a poet
Without a rhyme
A poet without a line
And a poet without a thought
Or a poem

See, I remember the day
When I first meet poetry
But that feeling
I use to get
No longer exists

I use to feel
The excitement
And the joy
When poetry
Entered and entertained
My life

All I wanted to do was
Eat, sleep, and breathe poetry
But that feeling
Has left
And has gone away

I miss the innocence
The purity
And the philosophy
That poetry
Use to give me

It use to make me high
And wish up on sky
It made me feel
Like there would be
No tomorrow
But that day has gone
And today marks the day
That poetry left me

Since that day
The high of poetry
Has been extinguished
I don’t feel the freshness
Nor the feeling
That poetry
Use to give me

See, I miss the days
When poetry use to
Make me happy
When it shined higher
Then the brightest star
But now it is gone

So let it be known
And forever be heard
Poetry, I miss you
And still love you

And with this I say
Peace to poetry.
