Black People : The Covenant With Black America

After reviewing the "thread," seems to ME

there's but ONE VOICE within this "thread,"

that finds this so-called "covenant" w/

black amerika as viewed by tavis smiley

and those symptheizers with him

suspect, or worthy of a much

closer scrutiny. Tell ME Sis (?) Akila,

Have you found the tempered VOICES of

cautious discernment perpetually

distasteful? or are the views of tavis smiley

and those of like-minded-ness w/ him, the final word

in "black authority" or, the "good" of black People?

If this is so...then I agree, there is no need to

engage in your discussion thread at all.....cause WE'D

simply be speaking w/ the intellectually challenged,

or worse, those who sympathize w/ the fundamental

idiom of the original slave-holders tyranny

which is what MY organization, (and THOSE w/ ME,)

fight against. Because I belive this voice is MINE,

(spoken of from the beginning ) I will leave your thread

as it was.....yours.

LMAOOoooo...at this pseudo-intellectual nonsense....smh
So now i'm intellectually challenged because I don't think
black folk should be disagreeable and fight amongst
themselves ??? You are hilarious ! :thanks:for the chuckle...

Good Question

What of lasting value will come out of the "covenant" and anything else that is proposed?I would rather see the Covenant in action than watch it speak on C-span.

I agree wholeheartedly, I've watched the State of The Black Union w/ Smiley & Joyner et al FAITHFULLY for several years now and I've grown weary of all the TALK. So finally there is some action w/ this covenant, or so I thought until I read on this and Cedric's thread about the stuff w/ Minister Farrakhan...I'm going to go check out Final Call . com to see what the Brother Minister has to say. I haven't read the book myself yet, but I've heard from others that the book offers realistic suggestions of what folks can do right in their own communities. I know that everyone will not agree with this particular book or it's methods....some conspiracists/millitants think Tavis and 'nem are Cointelpro, uncle toms, or whatever. All I'm saying is that short of a brotha or sistah advising us to submit to chattel slavery, why actively knock their attempts at solving the problems in our communities. I don't think we can afford to just so easily discount any reasonable solutions that are put forth. Nobody ever said that there had to be only ONE way to address our challenges...Black folk from every walk of life, religious/spiritual faith, socio-economic and educational level, political afiliation, sexual orientation, etc etc etc...HAVE to learn to work together if we ALL are to prosper ! That is unless folk just want their own little sub-groups to prosper and don't give a darn about the rest...which could very well be the case.

Much Love Everyone :grouphug:
