    the corner of the dead

    everything that s dead
    can t be buried
    like those junkie zombies
    that stand on the corner
    at that korean store

and it all seems so unreal

    how can that dope man
    sleep at night
without a fight with his conscious
    cause he puts death
i mean dope in their hands

but there s no gun to his head

and why do we scream say
‘i got to get my life together’
    cause everyday you dying
    i m dying
    while some are breathing dead

waiting on the next day to fall
    from the blue skies

and god must be an extreme lesson
    in diversity
because he she it sees it all
and so many sad stories are life
    or death and go untold

    oxygen don t mean ****
    to them i bet
when they can t get that hit

i wonder do they them junkies wake up
    some mornings
and just thank god for the day

    or does death greet them
    with that urge
    that want
    to be dead but breathing

    seasons change
    and i pass death by
    those dead ones who stand
on the corner of that korean store

and so many smart dead folks
    probably think
    that they are worthless

but that was someone s baby
    brother sister mother father
    or friend

    but death has a way
    of killing us all
i want to be dead in thought
    on days like this

but i can t get a hit of sanity
and ain t nobody selling that ****

if they did i d probably be
    on that same corner
    at the korean store
trying to get me a fix

    i m dying
    trying to complete death

you have a way of telling the story
    of life from your mindthoughts
in depictions most often never even
    think of...
    thank you.

you hit the nail on the head

    some people have no hope
some people make money of that

you can't really fault the drug dealer
cause the government deals us drug everyday

the food we eat is killing us
re: all the people who hit hospital with colon cancer

but i'm definitely in agreement with your work somebody got to show us a better way

    Peace MzNappi -- you deep

    this is

replete with messages/meaning/meat in due season my sista! The images you paint with a few broad strokes of your pen always leaves me gasping for....the 'breadth' of your knowledge, which seems to continue from an endless reservoir!

...and lil sis, all you need do is stay Black and just like you IZ...cuz yo flow is already dangerous (like it spose ta be)!

    work tha ink!

thank you all for the read

and street so'ja i feel that

i know the CIA is responsible for the influx of crack in our community

but this poem was dealing with the vices that make the community the way it is

"the hidden hand" didn t fit into this picture this go round

but love and poetics to you all and forever know the power starts in yo pen but until it meets action.....what s it all worth

Very much feelin' this poem. In some way form or fashion, junkies have always been a part of my life...and not all of it negative. Thanks for sharing this.
