Brother Oldsoul, I want to thank you for this video. This is a testimony of the law of "cause and effect". The young brother is sincere and in listening to him and if he himself had understood..."daddy himself was already damaged goods". Daddy didn't know what being a Black man was. Daddy really didn't want him....it was obviously just a piece of booty that slipped up into something else unintended. We could say that daddy should have worn a rubber...we can say that the mother should have been on the pill. We can say a lot of stuff...but in the end, daddy didn't know anything but the reflection that the white man gave him. Why else would he bring a white man home and hang him on the wall? Daddy couldn't save his son cause daddy couldn't even save himself! So the end of the poem reflects that not only was daddy a victim but the son was a victim too. We Got To Heal !!

Some may be tempted to compare this young man to Barak Obama. They both grew yup without fathers. One chose to be successful. The other chose to be a thug. But you see people don't make decisions in a vaccuum. Children are imitators. They do what they see being done. A child who grows up in an environment where everyone is a thug and being rewarded for it will aspire to the behavior he/she sees being rewarded.

That video was real talk! I was surprised that it only got less than a thousand hits since July.
