This is a call for my sistas to stand and be accounted for Its time we get noticed, but not as some man's "wifey", "mistress", or "whore" When are we going to see we're worth so much more Than being tossed around like groupees on a P.I.M.P. tour? Your worth without him, my sista, is still more than gold I know the hand you've been dealt may be a hard one to hold But when are we going to stop seeking pleasure at the price of our souls? I say its time for us ladies to take back control Lets not play into stereotypes, even though thats all we see Why have we allowed ourselves to be diminished to shaking, half-naked, on TV? Take back our lives, I'm not talking about just me We can do it, my sistas, but unity is key! I'm being honest, ladies, not trying to be mean I just want to offer some support, maybe a shoulder where you can lean Don't play into the standards set by music videos and magazines Standards set by the same society where it isn't unusual to become pregnant at fourteen Not saying I'm perfect, I have a long way to go But I feel its my calling to let my sistas know There's more to life than being the leading lady in some man's show I've learned the only man I need is the one from whence all blessings flow I'm not trying to preach to you, I'll let my mother handle that I don't want you to feel like your character is under attack It's just time to bring some of those old morals back Why is that when men are abundant we let our self love lack? Its time we treat our bodies like the temples they were made to be Stop letting other people define us...let me define me Stop letting ourselves be used as a man's trophy I just want us to love ourselves, sistas, is that too much of a plea?
