i have within me a momentary peace
    a momentary calmness
    a stay from hurt
a reprieve from ignorance and selfishness
from being made to feel not as good
    or lesser than
because i allowed myself to be hurt
    continually

i sit on my knees and i pray
for pieces of me that have been lost
    used and abused
    harsh words
    and slowly---
    those harsh words dissipate---vaporize---evaporate
    into the nothingness
    that the cruelty originated from

funny how i was caught up in cycles
    echo’s of childhood resurfaced
    it came from somewhere
when i look deep inside of there
i still see the frightened child
    the wounded teenager
    the damaged adult

    but while looking deep inside
    i also glimpsed a butterfly
spreading it’s wings in artistic colors
moving upon air currents as light as breath
it beckoned me to step away
    and find momentary peace
and within it resides a permanent release
    from cruelty

    You done did it

    your released to me,
    more than a butterfly.
    you released the pain,
    in a hurt persons cry.
    you gave them the joy,
    that they once lost.
you must have been the person,
    that carried Jesus cross.
cuz you touched a part of me,
    that i didn't know i had.
    and you mention cruelity,
which can hurt someone so bad.
that they can never be healed,
    but that can't be right.
cuz yo flow done got a needle and thread,
and sowed it up real tight!
see you got me thinking now,
about things i haven't even wished to think about.
but i won't say no more,
    i'm lovin' this one--------------i'm out......................
