Black People Politics : The Black Prophetic Tradition

'the Black Prophetic Tradition' :11200:...what is that ??????

Not sure I can answer that, at least not with any kind of confidence that I could defend any bounds I happen to place on what it means to me.
I admit it's a phrase I pilfered from C. West, weather or not he coined the term I can't say, while his usage of it is rooted in the Christian faith he always seems to encompass a lot more than it excludes. He uses that phrase quite often in his messaging.
I suppose it can mean whatever anyone wants it mean, for me though it speaks to a sense of community, an openness to sharing and forgiving that I feel is seemingly a lost or being lost as part of our Black culture, a sense of oneness or purpose in our collective direction whatever spiritual path individuals happen to tread. Perhaps I am making the mistake that my Brother BP member Eddie Conway warns against in another vid of romanticizing the 60's too much but I remember it as a time of oneness, a time of open doors and open minds in a time of sharing and community, whatever the reality was though I doubt I'd made out of those days without the Black community to save me from the streets.

Any ways Brother that's my poor attempt at 'what is that'.

The danger of a single story.

A round table conversation from Princeton

The danger of a single story....
Where do we see a constant and single story being told today?

That single story would include "economic inequality" as being the bad guy that needs to be overpowered by turning the United States into a Socialist nation.

As has been stated before we have within our Capitalism, a program for those who need the help, Welfare. Medicare which takes care of 80% of medical needs. Medicaid that helps people beyond Medicare. This is the the caring application for those people who have problems that go beyond lower incomes to the people who have even less who need the help.

Social Security goes to those who have had any kind of job. If that is not enough then back to Welfare, etc. Then there is program after program from State, and Federal subsidies. Private charities. Get a Social worker for a list. After that we are a nation that gives to other people of hardship countries.

Could we do all this if we become a Socialist Nation? What Socialist nation do you know that is doing well as a Model. The British are financially in trouble and their economy has fallen to a 30% low and is because of Socialistic give aways and spending. France is in civil strife because the taxes had to be raised to pay their way out. That also includes other states like Belgium associated with France.

These countries who had a large influx of immigrants, mostly men, are now experiencing Chaos, with people who won't generally assimilate to become part of the French or British people. They are there like a sixth toe where the shoe won't fit reasonable law and a working independence, financially contributing to their own total independence in their new country they ran the borders on.

Why are these people breaking through borders? Why are they not assimilating into the people. Because they wish to establish their former laws and politics. I suspect the motive they ran as a new guerrilla tactic for expansion because we are seeing it over and over again through different countries and now at the border of our nation.
