Senate fails to OK funds for years-old settlement with minority farmers

Washington (CNN) -- The U.S. Senate failed Thursday to approve nearly $5 billion for a settlement between the Agriculture Department and minority farmers reached more than a decade ago, prompting finger pointing by members of both parties and outrage among many black farmers.

Leads to the understanding that , there is a need for a collective effort, for Black communities to form economic collectives to purchase , availabe farm land , at pennies onn the dollar.

Any group of people have the right to feed , clothe and shelter themselves, as well as produce their own energy and communication systems

I might have missed something but I dont think that Black Nationalism is defined or mentioned as part of the Mission Statement.
