    Title: The Before and After

    See before hand...
he was thinking he was the man..

    Talking about he didn't care...
    and if anyone even dared...
    he gonna get his...
    poor Kid...
Not realizing all that he did...
    Is up for grabs...
    By the pententiary...

He thinks his crimes.. won't be charge...
    Here comes the cops...
    Time to run...
    Now the brother is atlarge...
    Just another indictment..
    Thinking they can beat it...
    Trustee...
    They boys...
    replaces...
    they boys...
    baby mommas and whores...

Easy life.. fast cash and quick money..
    yet them brothers hate all..
    that don't call...
    after their mess ups...
    collect calls..
    rejects..
    no disrespect...
but to pay the price for boredom...
    when you once had freedom...
    but decided to live easy...
    Now yo **** is queasy...
    when Old E-esey..
    waitin till you get sleeply...
    so he can get greasy...

Mad cause you don't have money for commensary...
But to get yanked up in the penetentiary...
Mad cause you ain't heard from your fam in about 3 weeks...
Still calling momma up cause you need money...

Yet get back out and do the same thing...
Can't get mad next time you're in and noone is calling...

To me.. what hurts... is to see young men with no hope... And despite what anyone says.. they see no other way. Now that hurts... and when the tears can no longer drop.. you stop caring... cause you can't love someone who doesn't love themself.. and you can't help someone who won't help themself... I wanna say its a lost cause... but i refuse to believe such.. cause in the turn of events.. It will be mainly them enlisted.. and then what?

    WHAT THEN INDEED?

It is sad that our young men have become such sad statistics, and that disenfranchisement still runs amuck. When the wise
man knows what the foolish man does not, that is the day we
    become teachers and reachers.
In the world according to MSLB!
    BLESSING ON YA HOUSE!

This is so on point. Reminds me of so many young men I met while teaching at a boy's camp. I got to know them as individuals. But they all had the same thread of anger and hopelessness running in their veins. It was the hopelessness that bothered me most. That came from something missing, something I couldn't fix in a 6 hour day.

And so I think about them and where certain ones might be right now, every time I see a county bus.

Thank you for this. Incredible work!

    Alyce

    Thank you.. both...
MS B... These days.. everywhere i go.. I don't care where... I try to make it my business to educate my fellow brothers and sistas.. and especially the youngs ones... or shall i say... "The ones where the truth be told... The streets are their lives..."

Alyce: 6hrs couldn't possibly be enough... I have showered a carpet for many of these brothers... contentment is a MF... excuse my french... Many are looking forward to the four walls... just a matter of acceptance...

In my observation... "CRABS IN A BUCKET" fit them perfectly...

They must realize there is a better way....our young men are falling prey to the enemy!!!! We must pray and educate our brothers and let them know that they don't have to go out like this!!!!!!!

Bishop: I have shown some a better way.. but a better way takes hardwork and effort... something many are not willing to put forth.. due to contemptment.... But i continue to feed the knowledge.. as much as a woman can give them..

sherykah: I've seen good boys go bad!!! I'll pray for your sons. Just be observant of their peers and teach them self-reliance... And pray that the morals and values to instill within them prevail...

Shaz: I'm gonna go look for it!!! :)
