    ramblings from the hope chest...

In the quiet of the morning
    wrapped in self-imposed
    solitude...
    shivering with/in my
    uncertainty

    I posed a question...

    my thirst to "know"
    had consumed my thoughts
    for many dreamless nights

    I longed for peace...

I needed to hear a word,
    just one
    true thing to
    set my soul free

    .....

    in the noon day,
    absent of mundane
    distractions & noise
    there was no bright sun
    yet the insistent rays
    shone through the clouds
    my eyes adjusted
    & I could
    see the light...
    .....

    the day had been long,

    &

    as the sun
    set behind the
    mountains
    the glow of
    evening spread
    across my world
    casting shadows
    (of knowing)upon my face ~

    a still, small voice
    whispered ~
    the message, carried
    on the night breeze,

    brushed against my cheek
    .....

    I stood there, without
    facades & pretenses...
    void of excuses & alibis,
    I stood ...bare...
    stripped naked before
    my Creator & all
    creation...

    & felt unseen Hands holding
    mind/body/soul
    together in the warm blanket
    of new understanding

    I have the answer

a...a thoughtful peace...this is a journey we can only travel alone..you describe it so perfectly when you say, "stripped naked before your creator"...naked in all senses of the word...a need to be at one with ourself and all things around us....physically, emotionally, mentally...loved this one...

    my sista

I agree with Kitana...there are times when we need to be naked in every sense, in order to receive "word".

Beautiful, Ms. A. Simply took me there.

    Ms. A

We all need to be naked in order to receive that which is forthcoming. You have taken me along on your journey to find that which you seek. I love the woman in your attic.

    Mz Alyce....

Your poetry is like a warm flow of wisdom and insight, that flows from head to toe, with a shower of understanding that runs deep into your soul..........I'm satisfied, truly satisfied inside.

    There is so much

courage needed in taking the steps to prepare our hearts to receive the "answer". And when we strip ourselves of our selves, it's a vulnerable state we place ourselves in, and frightening to even imagine. (which is why most continue to avoid truth).

You have said much here, Sis. And I am certain your answer came clearly ~ and not without pain. I feel you. Thank you for coming so naked before us here.
