Furthermore, she said that by appointing alt-right spokesman Steve Bannon as his campaign chairman, Trump was effecting an unholy merger between that malevolent movement and the Republican Party.

Indeed, her statements were more true than she, an outsider to the Republican process, could possibly know. As conservative writer Claire Berlinski recently pointed out, it is a tragedy and a disgrace that someone like Paul Ryan did not give her speech some time ago, so the catastrophe underway might have been averted ...

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke is calling Donald Trump's electoral victory "one of the most exciting nights of my life."

What the alt-right really wants, according to a professor writing a book about them

Donald Trump’s appointment of Stephen K. Bannon as his chief strategist has focused national attention on a nebulous and largely anonymous movement known as the alt-right. Bannon is the former chief of Breitbart News, an online organization that runs articles from a range of conservative points of view but that also helped the alt-right find a broader audience. Critics say that Bannon’s appointment will give this far-right group’s ideas a hearing in the White House ...

Maggiano’s is Sorry for Hosting a Bunch of White Supremacists Over the Weekend
A protest forced the restaurant to temporarily close

After hosting a dinner for the National Policy Institute, a white supremacist organization, Maggiano’s Little Italy has issued an apology. The Dallas-based chain posted a statement on the Facebook page for one of its Washington DC locations, explaining protesters forced the restaurant to abruptly close "to protect the safety of our teammates and guests" ...

RACE AND IDENTITY, REMIXED

Is It Racist To Call Someone 'Racist'?

... I guess that's why they were so touchy about their branding when my Code Switch teammate, Adrian Florido, asked a leader of the assembled group if they were using the "alt-right" label to camouflage views better described as racist.

"As far as the term racist is concerned, it always had a pejorative connotation," answered Jared Taylor, a prolific white nationalist writer. "If racist were simply a neutral word ... fine. But that word cannot be retrieved or sanitized" ...
