One step Foward, Two Steps Back

I don't know what it is about you
that makes me want to do your dance,

    One step foward..
You held me like there was no tomorrow,
as if I were your one and only.

    Two steps back,
    You distance yourself from me,
I call no answer, messages unreturned.

    One step foward,
You indirecly tell me you miss me,
    What am I doing today, tomorrow;
when will you see me again.

    Two steps back,
    Today is, tomorrow
    you've dissiapeared without a trace,
I know there is another woman,
sleeping beside you in "my place"
But since she isnt me, I just dont give a ****.

    One Step foward,
I see an opening in your soul,
You are sharing yourself with me,
as old stories pour out of you, I feel your pain.

    One foot foward,
You want to open up to me,
let me in your world of stained glass.
Tell me your past, as we together face the future.

    One foot back,
    You just dont know,
and dont want to be hurt.

    This dance that we do,
is both of love and wearyness.
You cant force something that isnt' there.
I cant give you my heart if its not wanted,
You cant love me if you love an old ghost,
I must admit, Im waiting on you ; longer than most.

I aint gon' push or pull,
    aint takin no bull.
Imma do this dance till' my feet hurt,
    or heart breaks in two.
    When its all over,
I guess imma have to find a new dancer,
    or two.

This is dedicated to the one that always
keeps me in my dancin shoes,
"once the heels break, thats all i can take"
But remember, I may have even loved you.

Yes, that old going nowhere fast dance gets tiring after a while. I really liked the way you posed this, made the reader feel as if they were taking those forward and backward steps throughout the piece.
