    happy thanksgiving, mom and dad
by the way I'm on dope
did you notice that I lost 60 pounds since the last time we spoke?
not really? no? maybe not? It's cool really
I just thought I'd give y'all a heads-up, I'll be here with my vodka tonic, crashing makes me antsy

been up for 4 days now, my face is all numb
i alphabetized everything in the cupboards, now that just seems dumb
i can't even swallow a crumb, my jaw is too constricted
something's gonna break soon, i know it, but i'm not afflicted
conflicted? am i in egypt and sailing on "the denial"?
i know that I can park a ford in my cheekbones if I had cash for a rental

hey lookee here, momz, can ya see my rib cage clearly?
it looks like the cadaver of what used to be the turkey
i'm all good, i'll be chillin' here with this fifth of gin
could ya pass me the juice, mom, it's right in that bin
no really, momz, i'm full, i just ate a week ago, i promise
it's still sitting in my stomach like a slab of concrete

well, i gotta bounce, great spread, mother, happy thanksgiving
don't know when I'll see y'all again, i gotz business waiting
jsut making sure i got my billz and my atm card in my wallet
i gotz my keys and my pipe, dang i can't forget dat
by the way, i think i'm losing my mind, can y'all hear me?
are y'all busy, sorry to interrupt, my bad, please forgive me
    i'm out, peace, maybe I'll see 21
my eye's shaking in my skull and i can't feel **** with my hands

hugs and kisses, i'll see y'all later
no need for leftovers, mom, i pawned my refrigerator
but do ya think i can score a fifty? i'll hit ya up come christmas
by the way, ma, you still have that altar, I wonder how much i'll get for that baby jesus?

    Hi KaNvaZ
    wow
    it could get that bad
    on the real
to be so hook up on that stuff...and the only care in the world thats left
    is to feed that addiction..
I understand where you coming from
in a poetic flow you introduce
just how low one would go
and how much help they need
all they got to do is ask
and it seem like in your flow
    they are asking ..

    Peace

    poetry that screams...

I've always said the greatest poets
are the ones that have experienced
the greatest of pain, heartache, joy, struggle etc.
    whatever it is...they've experienced it
at its highest high or its lowest low

thanks for sharing this with us
I think there are too many issues
that need to be addressed in poetry
that are often overlooked...this being one of them

you gave voice to the pain of addiction
and the pain of screaming for help
    but never being heard...

    you are a brave poet
    continue to write the story

thank you to all who have read this piece and to those who have replied and blessed me with their feedback. much love to each and every one of y'all.

you will soon discover that I am not the "sunshine-flowers-life-is-beautiful" poet...

...but it does help to get my words out there.

    thank you again.

Well, life isn't always beautiful, so scribing something about the painful side works for me. And you posed this in such a way that grabs the reader poet. Painful pieces can touch just the right person, and make them see things that perhaps they haven't seen before. Do keep on flowing.
