Did anyone see the Monday Night Football Commercial where "Desperate Housewives" star, Nicollette Sheridan, was trying to convince Philly Eagles, Terrell Owens, not to play a game by taking her clothes off? Apparently the Ad generated a lot of complaints from viewers, and has been the subject of a lot of news reports. I have to admit that I didn't see the ad (only the pictures), but Budweiser & other companies have pretty racy commercials on sports programs...yet they don't generate this type of "buzz". I know some of our newer members don't like Black-White issues. However I wonder if the main reason for the "uproar" over this Ad is because a white woman was trying to "seduce" a black man on national TV?

    can anybody say mandingo?

in an unrelated story, in ohio, black news anchor Sharon Reed posted nude pictures of her self on the station website.
it cost $7.00 to see them (don't ask me how i know that)
    ratings shot through the roof.

must be sweeps month or sumthin

I think the main reason for the uproar is the NFL tried to act like it was mortified by Janet and Justin's behavior, then turn around and give the green light to this commercial...a commercial that aired at 6pm pacific time while a lot of little boys are settling down to watch the game with daddy. Now the NFL will pretend to not know a thing about it... and of course ABC probably will too. ABC is just so glad to have a number one show on it's network that it does not know how to act!

A lot of men around my job today were even saying they thought they had the wrong channel when the commercial came on. I think the commercial was tacky...and her simulating sex (moaning and what not) was tasteless. At least with the Janet & Justin fiasco it happened so fast most people probably would not have noticed had the media not have made a big deal out of it showing it over and over for 3 more weeks.

Anyway, I hope Terrell got paid to make that garbage because he sure didn't impress me.

It's completely a racial thing, and it makes me sick to my stomach. The Colts coach called the spot "racially offensive." They are targeting Owens and not Sheridan. You know d#mn good and well that if it were a white player this would not be a big deal. Racism is alive and well in this land.

i think its 50/50 racial/wht woman/black man and 50/50 post 9/11 right wing christian conservative fascism.

i though the spot was funny,i laugh every time i c it. Tony dungee is one of my favorite coaches but he really disapointed me here. After all owens chose to do it they didnt make him.

one black female sorts reporter hit it on the head,if it were brett farve ...u get the point.

i believe they chose owens strictly cuz racialism would attract more of a buzz.

finally ppl r using the little boys watching arguement way to much. trust me your sons liked the spot more than ur husband...lol...hell when i was seven yrs old i usedto watch threes company and benny hill just to se some females...lol

Terrell Owens apologized for his participation in this "incident"! I would like to know why he felt the need to apologize, as he is very "outspoken", and usually backs every controversial thing he does. However, he is so sensitive about this incident that he apologizes for a commercial that he neither created or approved? Suddenly the NFL is unaware of the commercials which features its own athletes? Something definately stinks about this one!!

i was dissapointed in owens appology also. he lost some cool points with me. i think the nfl,or his franchise pr might have talked top him about it.

also notice how they refer to the super bowl incident as janets wardrobe malfunction and dont mention timberfake any more?
