    if we don't love ourselves
    we can't love each other
    if we don't respect ourselves
we can't respect our sister and brother
    old cliches'
    their meaning sinking fast
    but what of our future
    when we disregard our past
with their finger on the button
    jews say "never again"
    in northern ireland
    there is still much power
in a group called Sein Fenn
yet we bicker and point fingers
    while in 2002 black children
sit in the back of the school bus
    without any knowledge
    of its significance to us
millions let election day go bye
    without casting a single vote
    people died for this right
    some of them famous
    thousands of others
    of lesser note
    do we owe them nothing
    was the movement in vain
    should our children be ignorant
    of the suffering and pain
    I say no
    hell no
    teach our children
    remember where we come from
    how it was
    what was done
    and most important
    what we did to overcome
    the way was made
for them to be all they can
    but without historical knowlege
    they'll miss the subtle signs
    of a racist society
    wanting oh so bad
    for it to happen again
    the responsibilty lies with us
who else can our children trust

Yes, BE, tell them the truth and inspire them to pass it down, children deserve all their birth right. Their mentors are us, we are the holders of the truth and their future, we pass this to them do we do it with honesty, integrety the weapons of their self respect. Do we do this in truth and intelligence or in the blindness of ignorance and keep them in the dark. You make this choice so clear, yet, this is every parents choice. Lets pray together that they choose your way. BE, keep writting and encouraging us in the way you are, that your way is the way it should BE.

    you right, BE.
if we don't teach them right, they'll
learn it from the other all wrong!

Bravo, Poet! Reading you is not only a pleasure for the senses, but always an edifiying experience. Your passion is deeply felt. This is your calling... to shout these truths from the mountaintops...

    Teach!

    Speak it, now....

Lest our progeny become as our ancestors
    with history repeated
    upon future generations

Let us not fail to keep our children from becoming reenslaved

if you don't know what it is
you can't know what it was

the age of TV has raised that last 4 or 5 generations
and know we have freedom used as stupidity
and this is what you get
    the kids need help
but how are we going to get it to them?
it can't happened under the environment
