My sweet sleep, and my undying rest

That which I seek, as I feel the fire burn in my chest

Hands overworked, mind and back worked over

Thoughts of feet running wild, the lashing surely makes me sober

My sweet, sleep; you're now undying, so do rest

you put in all you had, and you couldn't do more than your best

maybe soon I'll be beside you, after the sun is done beating down

we'll be hand in hand again, one with each other, hearts truly bound

Or maybe I'll be alone for awhile, still waiting on that day

That time for you and I to be free, where at heart we do play

Hardly time to think on that, while I trip in this tall grass

Wondering if I'll reach the finish, if that border will be passed

My tears run free as I wish to be,

Streams of my face, oceans of my eyes, so deep

What more could I ask for, I do hasten this task for...

My undying rest, at peace in my sweet sleep
