    I heard them say today
    Will be a day of humidity
    So I decided to take a walk
    Along the shores of the river;

    It’s midday and the sun seems
    To be awaiting me as he shines
    Strong in the clear blue sky now
    Brightened by the strong hot rays;

    The path along the river is empty,
    There are no children throwing stones
    Or runners striding to full completion
    Or elderly couples out for their walk;

    I walk a distance until I find a tall
    Sycamore tree leaning over the shore
    As if he was trying to shade the river
    From the intensive heat of summer;

    I take a seat under the fully blossomed
    Tree and lean gently against its wood
    So i could wipe away the sweat and
    Take a moment of rest under the cool;

    I close my eyes to hear the river
    And yet there is a sentiment of
    quiet still as if the heat is too much
    Making the water sluggish and tired;

    I am troubled by the silence for the
    Day is already humid and to voice
    Of the river would bring a sense of
    cool to my moment of reflection;

    The heat of the day has overcome my
    Thoughts leaving me wanting to rest
    And as I reach a moment of comfort
    I am awakened by the voice of a swan;

    In the middle of the river she sits,
    Taking in the heat of the day mixed
    With the warmth of the sun as she
    Journeys gently in perfect circles;

    And for a moment she turns towards me
    Looking at me as if she can read my mind,
    Then tilts her head slightly in a salutation,
    Opens her wings wide and flies away;

    I released a smile as I watched her depart
    Then leaned back against the tree, closed
    My eyes and returned to my journey to sleep.
