I think it should be up to the individual citizen to decide if he/she want's to participate in this program or not. This is something you need to pay for every year of your working life.. whether you need it or not. How often does a person actually go to the Doctor's office? If medical services are unaffordable, they need to legislate caps on profit in that sector.. target bringing those prices down to earth. this whole insurance angle is an industry hustle. Just like car insurance.. you pay for it for 40-50 years and never have an accident.. but where did all that money go? straight into someone elses pocket.. it's a hustle.
Kaiser made almost 6 billion dollars in PROFIT between 2009 and 2011.. and they're still talking about increasing premiums.. unless something is done about the actual COST of healthcare.. this New Tax is going to see regular increases as companies ratched up their profit objectives.. These initial numbers are just initial.. but in 10 years you have to know that these tax rates are going to go up.. they always to up.. it's a guarantee.. and the industry will love it.. Their stock prices have already jumped since the ruling.. and why? because those huge profits in the Medical industry are going to be even larger.. and if Obama gets reelected they're going jump again.. as folks get confirmation that these rules will stand for the next 4 years at least.

Stocks of hospital companies rose sharply and insurance companies fell Thursday after the Supreme Court upheld a requirement that almost all Americans carry health insurance.

They keep calling this Obamacare.. but this would not have made it through congress if it was not endorsed by the industry. So the idea that this is somehow for the people is nothing more than propaganda. They made his about "the poor and working poor".. but those folks already went to the free clinic.. or to the emergency room for what they needed. Any employer will tell you that workers making less than about 20 bucks per hour will refuse healthcare coverage.. they just want the money. I remember we offered Kaiser to our employees and they all rejected it.. they didn't want to pay their share of the premium. But as an employer I would be looked at as some sort of derelict, when the reality is it's just not that important to everybody. And making a law that puts the onus on the individual and imposes government fines.. for black people.. all that means.. is just another way to end up in jail. it's another shake-down.. another hook in your side. Why come at the citizens who are mostly just getting buy and leave the corporations that are bringing Billions in profits to their devices?
it really looks like a cop holding a little kid up by his legs and shaking his change out of his pockets to give it to the rich kid next to him.
