(this was written about 6 weeks ago when I heard of a young palestinian man doing this outside of a disco)

    It was a suicide bombing!
Is this the p.c. term for blowing yourself to bits?

A young man, 20 years old
straps a home-made bomb to his body
    and ends his life..

So, ok, he died for a cause
one he believed very strongly in..
    well more power to him..
but did he have to kill
    other innocent teenagers
    to prove a **** point..

    teenage boys and girls
    at a disco
    laughing, having fun..
    and suddenly
    their world is torn apart..

    screws and nails
    hurled toward them
    with such force
that it tore their flesh to shreds..

and they lay in the street
    dead and dying
    bright red blood flowing
    onto the dull black tar..

    total chaos
    people crying, mothers praying
to no avail, their babies are dead..

    his father said,
his son had always wanted to die this way
and he hoped his other four sons
    did the same thing...

how do you reason with such lunacy?

how can a hatred be so strong
    burn so bright
that it takes you to such a place..

    he hated jews
so he acted on that hate..
    he made a choice
    which was his right..

    but he had no right
    to take anyone with him..
    this was a journey
    he should have made alone..

I remember this incident sad definitely. If you want to understand how this could be, why he would do something like this check the history behind Palestine and Israel. It will not get you to alter your views and condone such violent acts, but, it will get you to understand what this young man's "cause was".

    you know

for someone to die for what they believe is serious

man needs to learn to communicate with each other

this won't be the last time

man is smart when dealing with technology
but not when it comes to fellow man

Blakverb....I know there's a history here but the point I was trying to make is that whenever people decide to fight for/die for a cause, they take innocents with them....to me that is the senseless part of the act...thanks for the words...

Rich..yeah it was sad...especially when you saw them laying in the street with each others blood flowing around them..that was the part that touched me....thanks for the read as always..

Lister...thanks...just one more incident on tv I guess...it seems these things happen every day somewhere in the world..it is still so hard to understand such acts of violence though...

DSSNY...I agree wholeheartedly...this seems to be the way of our tecnologically advanced world...man is really showing their "animal" instincts....thanks for the read and the words....
