Earlier today, I was watching the Heisman award show. During the commercials, I saw an ad for beats audio (the pill speakers). Anyway, it did get me to laugh a little, but then I started to think. There have been many commercials that seem to target an audience, or seem to be suggestive. I don't want to lead the conversation with my opinion, but I want to get the opinion of others about commercials like this. What do you think about this commercial?

My initial and final reaction, I don't like it DDW. Too many stereotypical symbols for me ...

That is just about how I started to feel after my initial reaction. I mean, I understand the modern tactics of advertising but I still feel a certain way when stereotypes of our people (I am just going to say it because it seems pretty obvious) are put out there on the big screen in this fashion. Again, I will reserve my opinion for others to share but I see a few things wrong about this. I must make my confession clear that at first it made me laugh.

As they say, great minds think alike. Unfortunately, I never got to the laugh, guess my focus is pointed, very pointed, lol.

Buy this product, and be hip like those black folks you're always seeing.(And white people still can't dance, of course.;))

    I'm guessing that's what they're getting across.
