The sultry sounds of sade play
    With the thought provoking lyrics

    “…love is stronger than pride…”

All I can think to myself is
    If that is the case
Then I guess I don’t really love you.

I can’t stand to pick up the phone right now
And tell you yes, I am sorry
But you were just as wrong for yelling at me
Just pick up the phone and make it all better
Is all that needs to be done
I can’t stand to be upset with you
    Let’s make it better

“…I still really, really love you.
    Love is stronger than pride…”

Well if so then maybe it’s not that
    I don’t love you
But stubbornness is in the way
    And not pride.

Whatever it is I hope he calls soon
    He knows I can’t stand
when we end on a sour note.

Hard to say we're sorry sometimes, especially when we feel we're not in the wrong, maybe he'll make that call. Smooth write.

Sister...love the way you captured this
    I can relate...except I'm more familiar
    with pride than stubborness...but
it does raise an interesting question
either way...this piece was quite emotive
and I've always love the song.
flow on sister...I'm enjoying the vibe

THEY COUSINS THO UH HUH! Stubborness and Pride!

Would peace often elude us if there was no bigger man, who bowed his
head and offered heart and hand, just to be a bigger man.
We would as women spend far less sleepless nights.
If we would but swallow some of that pride right in the middle of the fight!
Sometimes love is saying your wrong even when you are right...
So in the first place you elude that fight.
But fight we will and stubborn be with naught but the best of precepts...
what makes the difference tween these cousins stubborn in pride...
is stubborn is reluctant and soon gives in, but pride goes forcefully to the side!
Often only after humiliating circumstances that we find you in the seat of
the man with the side way's glances...oh for second chances, sorry such
a simple word with serious powers and possibilities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    But then that's just me!
I loved this thought provoking , melancholy piece. I could see the two of
you pacing by the phone trying to decide who should make the first call.
    Beautifully done poet!

    BLESSINGS ON YOUR HOUSE! :grouphug:
