Lately I've been having the urge to listen to Ra for some reason. This thread is a dedication to the God....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VIZCHfA6P0

^^^ this is one dope remix of the watcher 2, with some added drums for that classic boom bap feel....Jay and Dre killed it, but Ra just puts himself in another class in the 3rd verse

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVCQZcgzp4E

^^^ Lyrics of Fury - my favorite track by Ra, and one of my favorite songs of all time......I still say his 2nd verse is as good as anything I've ever heard...and this was done in '88 I believe.......i bless the child, the earth, the gods, and bomb the rest!!!!....sickness on so many levels

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk2aejdfEKk&feature=related

^^^^ The Punisher - this track is just so brutal....I mean who says "I have a dead MC museum"??????

    feel free to add on

I remember when Eric B and Rakim first came out.

Jahari, what happened to Eric B, do you know?

I read somewhere that he had quit hip hop and opened a chain of restaurants around the US.

Thanx for this thread. I gotta co-sign on that Lyrics of Fury pick.
I used to blast that track.

I'm rated "R"...this is a warning, ya better void,
    Poets are paranoid, dj's d-stroyed,
Cuz i came back to attack others in spite-
Strike like lightnin', it's quite frightenin'!
But don't be afraid in the dark, in a park,
    Not a scream or a cry, or a bark, more like a spark;
Ya tremble like a alcoholic, muscles tighten up,
What's that, lighten up! you see a sight but,
Suddenly you feel like your in a horror flick,
You grab your heart then wish for tomorrow quick!
Music's the clue, when i come your warned,
Apocolypse now, when i'm done, ya gone!
    Haven't you ever heard of a mc-murderer?
This is the death penalty, and i'm servin' a
Death wish, so come on, step to this
Hysterical idea for a lyrical professionist
    !
Friday the thirteenth, walking down elm street,
You come in my realm ya get beat!
This is off limits, so your visions are blurry,
All ya see is the meters at a volume,
    Pumping lyrics of fury!

    The God at his best

Really? hmmm, that is very interesting and if it is true, I am glad that he did something constructive with the money he made.
