It’s sweet, perhaps a little too much,
these feelings I feel my mind in a daze,
    body pulled in all directions
    senses such
a mess that I might as well confess
    how scared I am,
each time I see her image
    ---oddly exotic, intensely hypnotic
as if she’s unlike any woman I’ve ever seen
(and yet, I’ve seen her again & again,)
    and when I touch her
    taste her
    infuse her presence (in me)
    I’m lost…in a mind numbing ecstasy
    that has me singing/dancing/praying/weakening….
cursing the day we ever met, because
    it was easy, before then,
    that fateful day….
    10000 shockwaves settled in,
causing my previously broken heart to mend with a gel
    it doesn’t understand….
now she’s what holds me together,
control dangling out of an unreachable window,
my happiness lying supine in her hands….
the demands of sustaining this level of bliss
have equaled the euphoric feelings I feel
when embraced by her distinct personality
or locked in each conversation kiss,
and we share each others’ souls,
but I’m beginning to notice an aftertaste…
I’m afraid the clasps won’t hold,
    this strange fruit, soursweet,
    confusing,
using my last bit of resolve to understand,
the tension increasing….my patience heading south,
at night, moonlight creeps on my pillow,
    as I sleeplessly contemplate “love”….
an awkward taste lingering in my mouth
