The quagmire that ensnares our weary soul,

Blindfolds our psyche to the point of desolation

The result of our infantile inclination

To assume that good has an extended vacation

What does a hungry man thinks

    Not of you and I

    His mind is filled sugarplums

Dancing a jig in his warped mind

    What does a psycho anticipates

    Not endless incarceration

    Only the satisfaction

Demonic appetite with some unlucky prey.

    What does a wordsmith convey?

    Not of bread and butter

But to put his soul on display

    Insignificant

Just to calm the beast within.
