The Trans Pacific Partner (TPP) that President Obama is trying to ram through Congress is actually a
partnership of the global 1% against all the working people of the planet. “The agreement will pit
workers in the U.S. – especially Black and Brown workers – into cut-throat competition with exploited
workers, this time in Asia.” Black Americans, especially, must say “No” to this rich man’s bill.

We must demand that black elected officials represent the interests of the people and
not the capitalist oligarchy that Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama represent.”

The Neoliberal assault on U.S. workers and democracy continues – this time with a slick move on the
part of the 1% to sneak by the people a noxious trade bill called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
The TPP is just one of measures the elite hopes to conclude using Barack Obama – their most effective
weapon since Ronald Reagan for convincing the middle-class and working people to support policies
that are objectively against their interests.

Like the North American Free-trade Agreement (NAFTA) concluded under Bill Clinton that promised
jobs, balanced economic growth and prosperity but instead created economic devastation in the
agricultural sector of Mexico and the loss of jobs in the U.S., the TPP promises more of the same but
    on a grander scale.

What exactly do the words capitalism/multinational corporations/globalism mean, to people who go on and on, about black economic empowerment, to begin with?!?

How exactly will this bill, if passed into law, negatively impact "Black and Brown workers" in the U.S.?

The potential to negatively impact the u.s. in general,
and so far that black folk live in the u.s., given what
information we have about the tpp, would suggest,
given our collective economic position, I would
    say worse than nafta.

From what I've heard about the TPP from President Obama himself, the new trade agreement will level the playing field across the 10 countries involved. The countries who sign on will enforce specific rules and regulations pertaining to environmental protections, child labor laws and regulate work hours per week or per pay period. If I'm not mistaken, it will also address wage per hour paid to workers. This will take away most advantages companies have when moving jobs overseas, thereby, taking away the majority of the profit obtainable by producing goods using "slave labor." The TPP will also require that goods produced in the U.S. be sold in those countries and not just those countries selling goods in the U.S.

If this is true, then this will create greater demand for goods and services produced in the U.S., causing employers to hire more people and lowering the unemployment rate. To me, this would seem to benefit Black and Brown workers in the U.S.

The main issue I heard concerning the TPP was the fast-track option for the President, for all future presidents, not just President Obama.

    Raptor,

Ok....I just saw the youtube videos you posted links to above. Here are a few questions I have.

If no one knows what's in the agreement except a few select people, then how can these organizations and individuals speak on it? How can you rally people against something when no one outside of the people who put the thing together know what's in it? Of course, these people imply that President Obama lied about the agreement or left out of his comments those things "We, The People" would disagree with.

What we do know is due to wikileaks and congress people who
were able to view the documents but congress were not able to
leave with notes of what they have reviewed:

It has not been made a matter of nation security, so
for pres obama to keep this on the dl and fast track it
without the public able to see it, flags should go up, no?
