Keeping more than two million behind bars
So many people the government says this is who we are
    Building more prisons to confine
Nothing left to educate the mind
Spending to keep them there about $25,000 a year
Housing the minority of the people out of fear
Housing so many were running out of room, to incarcerate
Prison life when their time is up, do we educate
Or is prison just a place, to teach further how to harm the human race?
As a black man in America face with a drug crime
Governmental organization indicted me two times
I will do more time, for the color of my skin
For the same crime as the white counterpart of mine
There are five times as many white men dealing drugs compare to blacks
But there are more of us in prisons, multiple that into a fact.
We need economic justice to balance out the scale
All need a equal chance, the government has failed
The only way we can as a people compete in the market of today is to have this click
Walk softly, with the mine as a sponge, once your task is done, pull out your big stick
Poverty is at it’s all time high, 14 percent among the whole population
But for reason I can’t see were dying in other nations
But it has grown amongst our own to 29 percent this is the creation in the black nation
Where’s the housing, food, healthcare, education, 24 acres and a mule
In the 70’s there were over 200,000 jailed inmates
In the year 2000 there are two million, that’s a hell of a high growth rate
The crime of society, is no social change, right now we have to act
For 60 percent of the newly incarcerate in this country will be black
We spend 8.3 billion on missile defense that works 30 percent of the time
But for the poor, the non-insurer, the uneducated there’s no money for them to find
No longer should the names of our educational system be started with state & federal intuitions
We as a people, have to take it on our own, and stop being cripple to find a better way
Let us show, that we do no, how to grow, for we do say this is a brand new day
And the truly riches country in the land, will know minority did have a hand in were America is today.
They know they have more than just the materials, to survive
And you wonder why, blacks and whites don’t see eye to eye.
For one culture there is the truth, and for the other there is that lie
