I’ve learned life can be peculiar
As many people like me know
It can be like the 19th of July
And you are standing in the snow
Sometimes life’s fist takes a good swing
And you must stand & take the blow
I’ve learned if it does not kill you
Then it will surely to help you grow

So many people out to get you
Callously step on your toe
Some many offering direction
Complicating the directions to go
So many different circumstances
Completely out of your control
You try to embrace your highs
While hoping to endure your lows

As I stand and face you, Life
I’m telling you I am not scared
Even though you keep catching me
At times when I am not prepared
But I’ve taken my good with my bad
And I like how well I have faired
Grateful to the Lord, family, & friends
Always knowing how much they’ve cared

I know Life has tried to catch others
This is the reason that I share
I know Life has made others suffer
Many have lived through their despair
With virtues of hard work& patience
Along with consistent faith & prayer
Everyday becoming stronger
Each day becoming more aware
