Black Entertainment : Spike Lee's Chiraq Trailer is Finally Here

Will you be going to the theaters to see it???

Watch “CHI-RAQ Trailer” on Vimeo:

I for sure am.

But not everyone is so excited about the satirical portrayal of a very real issue, among other things. Spike Lee defends at:

I'm not sure. I m a big fan of all Spike Lee Joints. But, I'm also ok with waiting for them to come to Netflix or TV. It really depends on the reactions and reviews it gets from the first viewers. I haven't even seen Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, yet. Because, the only person I know who saw it gave it two thumbs down.

From experience, I know that the movies are going to have cops on hand when it plays here. And here is the thing, they are never needed. They act as if we are this out of control race. Also I have mixed feelings of how a real and serious issue is told. To be specific, the sistas withholding sex can go, it's too many of them in the game it's self. They are ride'a die type of sistas. But I do get the gist of it. Sometime painful things have to be told is a way for it to be accepted.

BTW, I'm not really down with the name. Just go to Iraq and you will see the difference. We shouldn't adopt every title that is place upon us. Like close to the end when Nick says he don't live in Chicago, he lives in Chi-Raq.

Peace!
