Soul Mates

Hearts now carved out of
stone
painted house no longer a
home
only memories now share this
space
picking through the ruions of a broken
we
promises shattered like shards of
glass sprinkled in
sand
love’s emblem cease to exist on left
hands
harsh words that cut to the
bone
king and queen no longer sit upon jeweled
thrones
the sun-set on these
‘I do’s’
my notebook full of heart broke
haikus
this life we tried but didn’t get it
right
re-born our souls will search til’ we
find
again to speak our
vowels
my love this is good-bye but just for
now.
