I didnt know what to call this.
    I thought sometimes would do.

I remember my mother saying i was stupid
When i failed a subject in a nationwide exam
I remember my mother saying i was a fool
When i told her my aunt doesn't like me
She never said sorry when my aunt plainly told her she didn't like me
Sometimes, i think I’m not of this world

I remember my dad calling me a potential lazy boy
When i failed to finish ploughing part of the farm assigned to me
I remember my dad calling me a thief
When money he gave me to be put at home got "missing"
That money was meant to be my "pocket money"
He never said sorry when my mum said she took it for housekeeping
    Sometimes, i wish i wasn’t born

I remember brother saying telling me
i couldn't sleep in the same room with cos i might dirty the white wall
    Huh, "dirty the white wall"
You wonder what that me feel like
Sometimes i cry at midnight at the thought of being rejected

Mum, whom would i call Mma (my mother?)
When you keep discouraging me and say you love me
Maybe you should listen more cuz i love you

Dad, whom would i call Ndada (my father?)
When you keep calling me names and say you love me
Maybe you should interact more with your children
Cuz i hold you above everyone else in this world

I can't look up onto you guys if you keep doing this
Why do you always try to dictate my life for me?
    Don’t i have an opinion?

Sometimes, this is what i go through.
    Hmmmm

    :hi: Ibrahim
It's mighty good to see you roaming the boards of "Home" ..you've been missed...welcome home Sun.
I can relate all to well to this piece,
    but...
We may have some trials in life, and some of us do. What worked for me was ...
I took mental notes, and when I had my own child, I knew what to do and not do. Remember that most parents are conditioned by their parents. What wasn't instilled in them, couldn't be passed on to us, So I felt it was up to me to break the chain, yet give to my parents ...what they had no knowledge of giving me.
I gave to them "Unconditional Love" ...for the ones that give love less ...Need it so much More!!

    Again, ...welcome back :luvv:

Perhaps those parents were also raised harshly, with little love shown. Not excusing this behavior, however. Like queent said, that cycle can be broken, when it's your tunr to have children. Keep shining like the star that you are, you've been missed.

there are two sides to every story

every truth is a half truth

you are not a bad person

    "sometimes"

you must take heed to what other say

and take the good out of it

    always try to be better

i'm not saying they're right and you're wrong i'm not saying that

just take a look a the bigger picture

    and become a bigger person

the dirty the white wall was a bit much maybe immature

must people can criticize others without looking at themselves first

    real deep piece poet

    thanks for the read
