Why Trump's Flynn pardon could backfire

But Trump's pardon, which he announced in a tweet, means Flynn will theoretically no longer be protected from self-incrimination under the 5th Amendment should he ever be called to testify against Trump.

I would not hold out much hope for prosecutions of Trump for his behavior while in office. President-elect Joe Biden has already said he does not to want to pursue such a policy.

And despite the damage Trump has done, he still has hard core supporters who loved his insulting, dismissive and bigoted stances.

The voting public has rejected Trump. His defeat would have been much worse if it were not for the Defund The Police mantra and foolish ones on the Left still pushing unpopular views such as Socialism.

Take heart Trump will be out of power. And smile at the fact that many who have intimate knowledge of his worst impulses may be encouraged to reveal what they know.

How Democrats came up short in bid to expand House majority

Instead, it appears Democrats made a serious miscalculation in assuming their antipathy toward Trump would fuel victories across the country. They failed to anticipate that Trump's supporters would show up, too, with even greater force than before in rural areas.

It was not the fault of mainstream Democrats.

The blame lies with the Progressives and the knuckleheads who thought "Defund the Police" would play well in the Midwest. Progressives will never cease their demands that all politicians adhere to their beliefs.

People forget that when AOC burst on the scene after being elected in 2018, her Justice Democrats group targeted several Democrat House members for defeat.

All were Black men. None were White. None were Latino.

Black Americans fought for centuries for their own representation. And we're now supposed to hand the decision making over to a former Latina bartender who's never fought for the needs of Black Americans? Bull.

What we need to do is stop listening to those who divide our voting strength into factions and sub-groups which makes it easier for them to step into leadership roles. Our own representatives deserve that.

It should never go to those continually divide us when we can all benefit from a single voice.
