Let's talk about Eve:
The Lord God said, Genesis 2: 15 "And the Lord God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat (permission).
Gene. 2:16 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." This tree has consequences.
In the commandment the Lord God said, You can eat from ANY of the trees in this garden. But, (God gives free agency and a warning) of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: Because this tree brings death of mortality." So the properties of this tree brings about death which is contrary to a life eternal where there is no death, and with Satan there is no free agency, therefore being tempted to choose evil over the gifts of God brings terrible results.
So there are two things going on here, if Adam and Eve stay in the garden -- because they decided they did not want to have knowledge or children and certainly they did not want mortal lives where they die in a thousand years, (one day to God is a 1000 years) then stay away from that tree.
This choice includes with their free agency to live in ignorant bliss, just the two of them.
Along comes Satan, and his motive is to build up his own Kingdom and thwart the plans of God. So he asks Eve a question he already knows the answer to, "Has God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Eve answers the serpent saying, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. But God warned, Don't eat the the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden don't even touch it or, "You will die." It was a very lethal tree.
The serpent said, No way, you won't die. God knows that if you eat of that tree you will gain knowledge and you will be like gods, knowing what they know, good and evil.
Eve saw that fruit was edible and that it was also pleasant to look at, both very nice qualities, but that wouldn't be enough for her to choose to touch that tree, because the other trees of many, had delicious fruit, perfect fruit, fruit that one could never get tired of, but what those other trees did not have, is the ability to make her and Adam wise.
She also convinced Adam that knowledge is good and he took a bite. Now they both began an ability to recognize and solve problems. They knew they would be discovered by their Father God. Therefore, like most mortals, they thought if they hide, God would not see them. And so it begins.
Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden having to live in a world where there is both good and evil and their education begins even with experiencing sorrow. Yes, but, there is also a blessing that goes with it, a great plan of God. He granted unto Eve conception, children, the love of our lives. The snake got cursed and Adam and Eve got children in the middle of their free agency and sorrow of hard times.
So let's fast track to Revelations 11: 10 where we discover that God knew how he was going to work good for the children of God in the middle of the Garden of Eden. To God the garden was the pathway for all of us to learn important lessons, to prove where our hearts and intents are and to earn trusted Glory for further plans for those children with right hearts:
Satan was cast down to earth with those spirits who became his followers against heavenly Father. And this is the same place He put Adam and Eve. See the plan? We are here, because of that Plan which Adam and Eve did not fail in achieving.
"And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ!"
"REJOICE ye heavens and ye that dwell in them! "
Satan "knoweth that he hath but a short time."
