Okay, just to jump in and reply to a few people all at once. Yes, I see that the Twelve tribes of Israel all turned against God and accepted the false gods. Because they thought there was more noncommittal fun, don't have to do as much, reward as nothing was required except sometimes human sacrifice of the sweet innocent. I see that the Jews were cursed. I see the whole tribe of Israel displeased the Lord. I see that God turns away from people who reject Him and His teachings and they do not prosper at length. I see that God is going to gather the Tribes of Israel again in the latter day. How do we divide the history and cursing of Jews to Black history and curses there. Or was the seeming curse that brought slaves here a means to bless not curse? Those in the beginning were captured or given by village elders to the slavers: other tribes or the Dutch and then the English ships. These forefathers were torn from family and all that they knew to be taken all over the world and treated inhumanly. Yes yes. What was the alternative scenario. I've read African history. Bloody things happened there between tribes and what is today. Where would you like to be? Was God mean or was he bringing out a people into a larger world of understanding? How important was it to keep up with the world and have an advantage where we all are today? Is the glass half empty or half full and filling?! Bad God or good and wise God?
Your point is well taken, but the so-called blessing we've received by being here doesn't come without a price, even today. By and large, we remain a downtrodden people, having lost our culture, heritage and language, and we are constantly discriminated against, across the board. Is this better than living in a third world country, sure it is; but we don't live in a system void of racism where we are considered equal. Even our first black President is treated differently than his white counter parts, by the racists on the Right. So hatred of the black man and women by non-blacks continues with no end in sight. Take Trayvon Martin for instance, gunned down for wearing a hoodie. The list goes on and on willa. Economically, we are on the bottom, having high double digit unemployment figures, 13 - 14%, higher than any other group.
Peace In,
