    Slave to the Grind

    Be wearing out my mind
    Always looking for a sign
    Tomorrow’ll be a better time
And I can get up off this grind
We’re all slaves to a minimum wage
Entertainment is all the hollywood rage
Trying to get up on the world’s bigger stage
Desperately fighting against turning middle age
Theres no value in one being wise
And theres no honor in anyone’s eyes
Truth’s been stolen, thieves left us with lies
This grind sucks the juice out of all of our lives
You have to keep your hopes hidden from the light
And wear your shame proudly and always in plain sight
Your lonely dreams of freedom will be highjacked in the night
The slave will eat your heart, chew you up and sh1t you out for spite.

We can't let them be wearing out our MIND...
cause the one thing we don't have is TIME!
The time is near to move from this GRIMD...
to keep us under their whip..is a CRIME!
Yeah, all we have left is Hope and a DREAM,
Here's hoping our young have a better SCHEME
To lead us out of this grimd and the SHAME,
And start off by ..re-claiming our NAME!
    :spinstar:
Pull from under the whip and break these CHAINS
that has been tightly wrapped around our BRAINS
    :spinstar:
So [email protected] tired of being a slave to the GRIMDS
Right now! ..is the time, to wake up our MINDS

The grind can make mincemeat out of us, making us tired and weary with no rest in sight. There must be more, much more in this life. Keep giving us poetic thoughts to give us pause oldsoul.

Brother Oldsoul, I like the way you laid this out. However, there is a special honor in WISE-DOM. Lovin the PYRAMID effect goin on here. Perfectly poised, and not a milli-inch further from the truth:spinstar:

A beautiful piece, Brother OldSoul. When I saw the title I thought you meant a slave to the -other- grind, get me? ;)

Nonetheless, that was a jewel. Very powerful, makes me breath deep and nod my head.

How can something so sad and painful make us feel so good? Poetry is a divine element in this sphere of existence.

Also, wonderful input by sister Queentswana, as always.

    Stay blessed.

This flow is true to the truth.

    cherry blossom

    Nice bump.
    This flow I missed.

    Slave to the grind
    Blows the positive time.

We don't have an eternity here!

    The non-control thats felt
Is clock time invented by man
    To control me even still

    If the hands of time
Sundial invention of the tick and the tock
Twelve little digits on the face of a clock
Freeze each second into ten years of time.

Coming to grips with the set-up scheme
Somebody else has control of life strings.
Wasting all of your positives to the atmosphere!

Grinding away to the daily job
Not exercising the potential you hold
Even as you do, the Grind be still on top of you.
