for C. Thomas Lyon, my mentor~teacher, my colleague, my friend

    I saw him tonight
    my bright and shining colleague
    pushing shopping carts

    We were team teachers
    working with the toughest kids
    he helped me stay strong...

    this hurt me...

Tom was a wonderful person, a brilliant mathematician ~ but they say there's a thin line between genius and insanity. Six years is long enough for hell to break loose.

    Thank you for feeling this

    Alyce,

This is a deep double Haiku of reality. We should appreciate and enjoy the life we have. No condition is permanent. I'm really feeling this. A co-worker/friend's husband took his life a few days ago. She is clueless to why. Hell can break loose at anytime, it seems. Thanks for sharing.

    this was so sad...

sometimes amidst all the pain a person bears, there will be one tiny thing that is big enough to break their spirit...it's always sad to witness things like this happening...
