    i've been
sitting under the old oak tree
    down by the river
    listening to time
    wander by

    i've been
    thinking 'bout that day
    ...you know the day
    when you went away
    and i never knew why

    i've been
    playing with tear drops
    waiting for time to stop
    ...'coz the pain won't stop
    now, both consumes me

    i've been
    waiting for the sunset
hoping that nightfall makes me forget
    all the grief
your love has brought to me

    i've been
    hoping for a spring day
    ...hoping another love
    would come my way
    but it won't

being lost in the memory of US
    i wouldn't see it,
    anyway

    so,
i'll sit under this oak tree
    reminiscing 'bout you and me
listening to the river and waiting for the sunset
'til another comes by to make me forget

    i love you.:(

It Will Only Be A Season

It was not that your touch
    No longer stirred my soul.
    Time simply moved too fast
For the things I left untold.

    You grew on me
    So suddenly.
    Could anything so good
    Happen to me?

    I wondered if I was
    Worthy of your love.
If you knew of my past,
    Would things fit smoothly...
    As a glove?

It will only be a season,
Then shall I reveal my reason.

If you should still be under
    The oak tree,
    I will bare my past
    Unto thee.

    If your heart can bare
    My heavy, my past,
Then I will know without a doubt,
That I have found 'secure' love...at last.

It will only be a season.

    *I'm almost there*

    then, i shall wait...

    under the old, oak tree
    down by the river
    you will find me
    watching time go by

    when the season is right
when your heart is no longer heavy
when the stars and the moon
no longer lead you away from me

    come back

    i will be here

    i have nowhere to go
that would change how i feel about you
    i have nothing to do
that would take my mind off you

    a week
    a month
my love will stand the test of time

    if you don't mind

    i will just sit here
    under the old, oak tree

    waiting for your return

JOYCE...I'M ALWAYS AMAZED AT YOUR WORDS. "OF A PURE PEN" WAS A MASTERPIECE. THANKS FOR RESPONDING.

    While Sitting Underneath Me

    While you are sitting
    underneath me, waiting
    for your love,
    may I ask of you,
    the issues of your heart?

I must speak to you in similies
of soil, roots, water and wind.

    Have your roots
    captured her ground?
    Can you grow into her
    without robbing her soil.

Like I, will you still remain
    after the thrusts of her
    revealing hurricane?

Will you wait for her waters
    which may overtake you
    as a flood?

    While sitting underneath me,
    Please ponder these things.
Take note of me...an oak tree.

The soil is committed to me
    For life.
    It is my life support.

    Your soil...is it fertile?
    Is it capable of supporting
    for life that which is
    heavier than itself?

    Is it ready for committment?
    When she returns,
Will she see her fruit prosper
or will weeds come up instead,
when all is done and said?

    While you're sitting
    underneath me,
    a wise oak tree,
    please consider these things.

    In and out of season,
    I can depend on
    the soil of the earth.
    Even when the ground
    is covered with ice,
    the soil continues
    to give to me.

    Will she be able to
    depend on you,
    In and out of season?
    Even when the winds
    of life blow hard upon
    the both of you?

    Should famine come
    I will not fear,
    for the soil of God
    is committed to me here.

    Her roots must grow down
    deep into your earth,
    so that every wind will
    respect her depth in you...
    and pass over.

    Open wide your mouth
    and speak against the
    winds that blow upon her.
Ask Jesus to stand beside you.
    The winds will obey.

    For your presence underneath me
    is all in vain,
If your heart cannot help her
    bare her pain.

THANKS BALLER...YOUR WRITINGS ARE VERY TENDER. I AM HONORED THAT YOU ACCEPT THIS POETIC EXPERIENCE.

    the issues of my heart...

...would take up a thousand pages
    to get through the rages
that's raging inside of these mazes

    so,
    i don't dwell on what's wrong
i like the sound of things others say
    like
    LIFE IS GOOD
    everyday.

    so
i sit under this old, oak tree
    immersed in this beautiful portrait
    GOD has painted
    for me

.....a winding river singing mellow tunes
    .....that soothes the mind

    .....flowing beds of cushiony grasses
.....soft to the touch of feet and behind

    .....vivacious colors to enjoy...to see
.....beautiful rainbows that speaks to me

'preciate the effort that HE's put forth
to ensure HIS creation is lovingly cared for

HE even provided this old, oak tree
to provide some shade and a seat for me
to come and sit and ponder awhile
    sometimes alone
    sometimes, with my child
or, maybe just the two of us
    you and me
    in HIS love, we trust

    THANK YOU.

    exchange

the exchange here is beautiful. sometimes nature reminds us of the simplicity of life. existence alone is an accomplishment and blessing.
