    They sing me songs today
The ancestors sway in the wind
I pretend they let my wings open wide
    Sometimes a spirit must hide
Everybody don’t need to see she flies
Her journey be deep inside of me
    They sing me songs today
    The ancestors tell me
Sit in your own womb, child
    Listen for the message
Breath of life is a flight that soars high
While your sitting in your own womb
Consumed by the world spinning fast
The task is to master your own purpose
Stand still long enough for movement
Surface travels lie in passage directions
Often confused state of mind be madness
Self-reflections are often cloudy mirror images
Nobody wants to look at themselves
See me for what I am
    Not what I can be
Not what I should have done
    Sitting in my own womb
    They sing me songs today
    The ancestors take flight
    Blue birds they are
    Far in tree limbs
    Transcending melodic imagery
    They transform me
Take me Black to spiritual realms
    Nurture me
    I need quenching
    I am dying of thirst
    Cursed to live among those
    Who don’t know they’re alive
Please find me sitting in my own womb
    Spirit
    I hear life breathing
    Yearning
    I am to be free
Sometimes the dark is a lighted path
    Masking all from within
    If I intend to feed
Off the need to cut the umbilical cord
    No longer will I soar
    Past the heaven’s gates
Takes two weeks to develop tear ducts
    Lifetime of tears
    Some happy thoughts
    Mostly scar tissue from pain
    Left behing
Outside of sitting in your own womb
    They sing me songs today
    The ancestors
    They say I am
Strong enough to sit and listen
    They say I am
Strong enough to stand and wait
    They say I am
Strong enough to be cleansed from my crying
    I hear the ancestors
I pretend to let my wings open wide
Everybody don't need to see she flies
Sometimes spirit must hide her journey
    They sing to me
    The ancestors
While I am sitting in my own womb
    Silent and still
I am listening to their song.....
