Attention ALL Sisters!

Last week sisters who regularly participate in "Sister Chat" decided to kick our weekly discussions up a notch in class. Many of us are serious about the things that we discuss relative to ourselves, our families, and our communities. Our Brothers are doing the same thing and we are proud to see the number of us that want to do more than just talk about the issues, interests and concerns that we have. The following topic will be discussed in "Sister Chat" on Tuesday, February 10, 2004:

TOPIC: Black Women's Lifetstyle Wellness

"Not a strong wind, nor a surge of pressure, nor a fit of passion, nor anything, can throw you off when your body, mind and spirit are in perfect balance."

All sisters are cordially invited to join us every Tuesday evening at 8pm in our Voice Chat Classroom for a rousing discussion of topics that we have chosen to address. Last week we developed some guidelines for us to follow so that we can effectively manage our discussions.

NEW SISTER CHAT GUIDELINES
Primary co-moderators are Sisters AngelicSage and NNQueen
Support co-moderators are Sisters Triniti and MzBlkAngel
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Classes will begin at 8:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. To make discussions more meaningful, we ask that participants make the effort to please be on time.

Participants are expected to come with a working mic. To test your mic to make sure it's working, participants should arrive early before class begins and someone will assist them with their mic set-up.

An agenda will be set each week and posted the previous week. This will be done so that participants will have the opportunity to think about the topic beforehand and come prepared to discuss it.

Everyone present will be encouraged to speak on the mic to share their thoughts. All of us have something to contribute and no one should feel afraid to speak up. You will be among your sisters who are striving to support each other and demonstrate that we care about what we all think and how we feel.

At the end of each class and before we adjourn for the evening, the topic for the following week will be selected by the group. Discussion of a topic will continue until the group has decided to conclude further discussion.

Notes will be taken each week of our discussions, transcribed and may be posted at the "Sister Chat" forum for open discussion. This will be done to encourage sisters to attend our classes when they see how serious we take our issues.

We are looking forward to our sisters joining us every Tuesday. Any suggestions you might have to make this experience more supportive and task-oriented, we look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Peace! :spinstar:
