this is not to be used as an excuse
for i have to rise above the fuse
recuperate and rejuvenate
he was there
in the flesh
i could look into his eyes
he could look into mine
how i wish i would fly into his shiny black coals on his face
but i could never see what he could see
i seen him
i seen a young boy trapped inside a man's body
lack of understanding
no sense of responsibility
but not to worry
the baby daddy's momma is always there to take up the slack
that's how it is among us blacks
wish all the love for daddy's momma from 70 times 70 plus 3 more
she could never fill the empty space
she always made excuses for her dear son
but momma can't protect and make excuses forever
when the bullet exploded the flesh momma wasn't there
she couldn't just hold him and bandage up dear son
no longer could she make excuses for her dear son
no longer could he make promises to his daughter
so now this question arises
how can a daughter grieve over a father she never had
the answer is, she can't
wasted emotion
so now babygirl is with babydaddy's momma
on a permanent basis
she promises not to give momma any grief
she has seen too much and heard too much
to be so young
sometimes she goes to fantisize over "what if's"
what if he was always there
what if he always cared
what if he didn't just worship his lil princess from a distance
what if
meaningless
