    Silly of me

Silly of me to fall in love
    With your revolution talk
    When all it was
Was a conspiracy to conquer my draws
Silly of me to fall for the phony right fist in the air
    Quoting huey p. and Malcolm

See I didn’t know cold hearted playas
were wearing the mask of conscious men
with your El Che t- shirts
    and natural dreds

silly of me to fall for the trap
    walked right into it
    fooled by his engmatic presence
    and how articulate he was
    not to mention hellified sexy
quoting Angela Davis as he undressed
saying how the revolution will not be televised as he pulled off my shirt
telling me how much he loved his natural black sistas as he unzipped my skirt
giving me theories on who shot b.i.g and pac as he unsnapped my bra
making me feel like a phenomal women as my panties were torn off
and snap just like that in his clutch I fell
silly of me to think just cuz he wrote poetry
    took African American studies
and wore t shirts with faces
    of revolutionary leaders
that he couldn’t be a heartbreaker
    liar
    and cheater
my mother told me never to judge a book by its cover
    because looks can be deceiving
    and deceived he did
    filled up my naive head
    with facts
    knowledge
    and lies
    hymotized me
    with the combination of
    game and wisdom
    had me so caught up
    that I couldn’t
    see the plan
which was by any means necessary
    to get in my pants
he undressed me with the revolution

    Very Nice Poem Zola
    Welcome to Destee

Poetry and verse does capture the heart and mind. No regrets. This poem express clearly the moving power of words. Desired and not expected. Saying the words you love to hear. Capture your mind. Heart and ear. For selfish motives will appear. Because poetry is deeper than that.

This was an awesome write. I could almost visualize this soul who seemed like such a revolutionary man, when in essence he was simply a playa. And that last line, "he undressed me with the revolution", that was simply on point poet.
