I listened to a lot of the speeches during the DNC. And I noticed something that seems kinda strange. Although everybody was pretty adamant about why McCain should not be president nobody but nobody said a word about McKinney, the Green party or any of the other parties accept to include the Independents as those who would benefit from Obama's vision. The green party was not even mentioned in any of the speeches I heard.and I listened to and taped all the jet set speakers.

Do these peripheral parties exist just to support the illusion of democracy? When a senator or representative is mentioned his/her name is appended with designations like Dem-AZ or Rep-OR. Have you ever seen an Independent or Green senator or representative? Ind-NY or Grn-OH?

If you are serious about being the president why join a party that has never even had a member in congress much less the Oval Office?

"lesser evil", "greater evil": either is willfully choosing "evil". by the same token, "better the devil you know" is still choosing "the devil", throwing away the possibility of choosing an "angel".

it could also have something to do with maintaining "the illusion of democracy".

cynically, it could be more of this telling people what they are supposed to think, believe and want by not making any mention of alternatives in "prime time", as in, any time that speaking might get into the alleged "public" media.

is it absolutely certain that there have not been members of other parties in any offices of government? or might they just not have been positively mentioned so as to not give the idea that alternatives might be viable? or might the "electoral college" have decreed that any that "won" the "approval of the people" were denied because they "weren't what was/is best for the american people"?

personally, i "cast my vote" for the Natural Order ... by limiting my participation in this desecratory "society"/"civilization" as much as possible ... as i am free to do in this "democratic society".

    anAfrican,

The perspective you bring into the Forum and Threads is unique and out of the box thinking, which is a good thing, an African. I might add, the missing element in terms of Politics is money, it takes big money to succeed, normally. It's the kind of money that Obama has raised.
