    SICKNESS OF THE HEART

Simply because of the hue of my behind
Living in the times of hating who I am
Betraying the dream of Martin Luther King
Struggling to survive in a world of profound divide
    --------------
    How can we negate the
    contents of the heart
    if all you do,- is
    wish for my demise
    -----------------
    Curse me, hate me
    the truth you can't deny
    that I am the brother
    your DNA can't hide
    ------------------
    How blind is your mind
Unable to see - beneath the color of my skin
    You better pray to God
for the cure, - of the sickness of the heart.
    ------------------

I enjoyed this poem it tells of the reality we all now face and allows us freedom to feel and know were not alone in the struggle.
thank you for the shoulder to cry on. Signed Tdogg

    Thank you for the responses.

    - I find soothing in articulating our pain through the written word. I hope I never lose this valuable outlet, because otherwise it can be very tragic.

    PEACE, BLESSINGS & MUCH RESPECT

this is a touching poem. sometimes we forget that stuff like this is still going on, or we're blind to it. either way, we need to remember that it's real and true

feeling this for real, and yes it's still a major issue
I hate to think that it will always be but I try to have faith
the sad thing is, many of us have become conditioned to the treatment

and your right...it is a sickness of the heart

    conscious piece
